Well

So far today I have:

- 4 baskets of Laundry folded and put away
- cleaned my kitchen, countertops, stovetop and floor
- taken and picked up 2 boys from school
- took one door off it's hinges (boys' room)
- been told that I hate one of my boys
- been screamed at
- had things thrown at me

Yes. I took the boys' door off. I told them yesterday that if they slammed the door one more time their door was going bye-bye. So today, C had a fit about one thing or another (probably having to do his homework, a weekly fight). I told him to go to his room and get a better attitude... off he went, slamming the door on the way in. I immediately went and got my hammer and flat-head screwdriver and WA-LAH! No door!

Then I gave them another doozy. Not only did they lose their door, but I don't want to see the mess in their room. SOOOOOO, they need to clean it up!

C proceeded to throw another fit about that and made an even bigger mess... and lost his nightstand.

Now. Mommy fed them pizza for dinner because she doesn't have the patience to deal with dinner and try to deal with screaming, fit-throwing boys.

Yeah. What a day.

How come...

... when you should eat something, NOTHING looks good and you can't find anything you want to eat. And when you don't need to be eating anything, EVERYTHING looks good and you actually have to stop yourself from eating it all????
ARG.

Scrumptious Saturday

I am SO not one for planning and preparing for meals. Most of you know that.

This last Monday I cleaned out a cupboard that had been bothering me for a while and found a bag of Cornbread Mix that I started one time but then didn't have any sugar. There was one part of the meal. I remembered that I had pork chops in the freezer that I needed to use. So I pulled those out to thaw.
Now I had to figure out what to do with them. I LOVE doing pork chops with cream of mushroom soup, but they don't ever taste as good (or look as good) as my mom's.
So onto Allrecipes.com to see if I could find anything.
That is when I found this - Marinated Baked Pork Chops.
After reading the comments (which I think you should always do when trying out a new recipe), I made more sauce than it called for for 4 chops and added about a tablespoon of minced garlic. They turned out fabulous! I shared them with my parents and even Dad liked them! They were juicy and very flavorful! And the sauce would have been really good on rice; My dad liked it on the cornbread... interesting!
