Isaac means Laughter
Joseph means God increases
Isaac, you sure embody the meaning of your name!
I am amazed day to day how much you bring to this family, making us smile, laugh and shake our heads in wonder.
God sure knew what he was doing in sending you to us.
You are going to school this year for the first time! You probably would go every day if you could! I love watching you with your new friends and your teachers.
I can’t believe that you are four already! The years have flown by – one minute you are this little baby in my arms, the next you are this little man walking next to me and chatting my ear off!
WE LOVE YOU, ISAAC!!!
Hope your day was filled with fun and family!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
That’s right. It is my mom’s 60th Birthday today.
I love you, Mom.
You are an example of what kind of mom I want to be.
Happy Birthday!
…happened at Gramma and Grandpas house this year (HORRAY!)
Carving and painting and messes, OH MY!
He wasn’t too excited about the “goo” and wanted Gramma to do it!
-- Elbow deep --
Grandpa even made wooden pipes for the pumpkins to hold in their mouths! Too cute!
And you know what I just realized? I never took a picture of the final products… Bummer.
Some great pumpkins were carved though!
When my sis and her crew were down a few weeks ago, we all packed up bikes, helmets and lunches and went into Salem to the Riverside park. Long bike ride, carousel rides and lunch by the river… It was COLD, but a VERY fun time!
We ended the day at Grandma and Grandpa Lowen’s house… 7 great-grandkids, 2 grandkids and 1 daughter and son-in-law – made for a FULL house! We all had fun and slept well that night!
4 fried eggs (with cheese) on 2 slices of toast with lots of baby dill pickles (his version of a sandwich).
Small bowl of Top Ramen (that Isaac didn’t eat).
More baby dill pickles.
One LARGE sliced apple.
SERIOUSLY???

Hope your evening is safe and fun!
Fishing isn’t exactly my favorite thing in the world to do. But you know what? If I could go every time with these wonderful people, I would happily do it! We had SO much fun! 3 parents and 6 kids makes for some fun (and interesting) fishing on a boat! I was the only one without a pole – even Isaac had a 3 year old sized pole!

After 2 hours, only Jakob had caught a fish, but it was a wild trout, so it had to be returned to the water… Bummer!
It was supposed to rain all morning, but wouldn’t you know, it didn’t rain a drop until a couple hours after we were done!
We followed up the fishing with a used book store then to the beach until that pesky Oregon rain kicked in.
It was a good day.
… is in preschool! He was soooooooo excited when I told him he would get to go to school this year, and kept bugging me until I knew all the details – where, when, how long, etc.
He is just so stinkin’ cute!
He is there from 8-11, has breakfast and lunch, brushes his teeth, plays outside, plays inside… It is amazing all that they cram in in just 3 hours!
Isaac loves every minute and can’t wait for Thursday mornings!!!
…Cooking his own breakfast. A common site in this house! He usually will eat 5 or more eggs in the morning.
Needless to say, I buy 5 dozen packs of eggs. Sometimes 10 dozen. Any given morning we might go through 14 eggs or more.
YIKES! And they are only 10, 8 and 3 1/2!
Can you imagine what that might be in 5 years???? I tremble at the thought!
I came across this picture from May… My mom and her 2 sisters. I love this picture!
We had a wonderful day in Aurora, meeting author Jane Kirkpatrick and touring the town where a series of her books were based. I took 200+ pictures. Here are just a few…
… for FREE!!!
(if you can’t tell what “they” are, they are 2 old-fashioned radios. The kind with only AM.)
and they took ‘em apart, made a mess, tried to put it back together (and couldn’t) so smashed them to pieces!
All in all, several days of good fun for 2 bored-of-summer boys!
