First Day of school, Soccer, Cub Scouts and life...

Wow. Another start to another school year. Only this year I have 2 boys in all day school! Jakob started 1st grade with the same wonderful teacher he had last year, Mrs. Diaz. He is thoroughly enjoying learning more Spanish and getting to play and learn other new things!

Christian started 3rd grade... Oh. My. Goodness! He insisted on wearing a button-up shirt and tie for his first day, "and on picture day too, mom!" His teacher is Mrs. Rada, who Chris informed me, he has been wanting her for his teacher... Good start! He in enjoying his class, being with his friends and making new friends. Chris has also decided to join Choir! (more to come on that I am sure!)

Soon after school started, so did soccer season. Jake chose not to play this season (a decision I think that he is regretting now!) but Chris is happily playing. And in his favorite position too - goalie! That is Chris there, in the middle, on the ground - I think that he was getting the ball...

And, not to forget the other thing, Chris is in his 2nd year of Cub Scouts! He loves it, can't wait for it every Monday! Here he is receiving several patches and awards for the summers worth of activities that he did! Way to go Chris!!!Isaac insisted on having his picture taken, but when he realized that Grandma wasn't smiling for it, looked at her and said, "CHEESE!!!!!!" (Sorry, mom. I know that you don't like this picture, but is just so cute! I had to put it in here!!!) Isaac being silly - and, yes, he really IS up-side-down!
Oh, the joys of having one child at home most of the day. He will find ANYTHING to get into/play with/entertain himself with!!!
To finish this off. Yes, it has been WAAAAYYYYY too long since I posted anything. It has been a difficult beginning of the school year for me (not so much the boys, mostly mommy!)

Hopefully for those who have BUGGED me about blogging, this will keep you at bay for a little while at least!

Fun Day

Today Isaac and I had a play date with some friends... One of their little girls is just older than Isaac and they had a lot of fun!

They watched the tractors working on the new park--

... they rode bikes...

... and of course, they hugged.

And later, after my doctors appointment, we saw a bat!

Fabulous!

Will all the testosterone in this house, I decided that I needed to make my room into the most girlie (at least to my preference) that I could...

I found these fabulous sheer curtains at Goodwill with my mom -
(this picture doesn't show the color that well, they are deep purple)

And this beautifully girlie, yet not frilly, duvet cover and pillow shams are from Ikea. I LOVE IT!!!

I have 3 other decorative pillows that Jenn gave me that I am going to make pillowcases for, but haven't gotten the material to match yet... I can't wait to see it all together! Might make me want to keep it cleaner - and maybe "no boys allowed"...although I don't think that that will go over very well with C&J... ;)
