I love it when...

... I hear my boys playing well together, laughing and having a great time.

... I see the dimples in C's cheeks because he is smiling so big.

... after a long day I can go in when they are asleep and kiss them on the cheek, and they don't protest.

... I get an "I love you" or a hug - just because.

... we have a great day.

... I hear a very happy, but very tired laugh.

... the sun is shining and I can have a quiet moment to soak it in.

... C or J tell one of 'those' jokes that make you laugh just because is doesn't make any sense.

... I can overlook the bad parts of the day, because the good parts were THAT good.

I just love that.

Question...

Ok. To all you mom's out there:
What do you do to contain all the school papers, church artwork, colorings and other misc. papers that your children accumulate over the years?
My boys' papers just seems to be piling here and there and everywhere and I cannot seem to find an adequate way to "organize".
Any suggestions?

(Mom, don't laugh too hard! Yes, I know that I am a paper-stacker by nature, but this is an attempt to at least try to organize PART of the accumulation of papers here...)

Overheard...

[sitting at the dining room table, Isaac and Jakob are enjoying their noodles]

J: Isaac eats slow... I have almost finished!
M: J, he is only two and he only eats one noodle at a time. You eat whole spoonfulls!
J: (wide-eyed) Oh, yeah!

J: (to Isaac) Someday, Isaac, you'll be just like me!
I: No. I be Isaac. Like Isaac.

You go boy! Be an individual! YEAH!!!

I am having some SERIOUS camera envy...

...Yes, I know that it is wrong to envy. But can you blame me? Look at some of the Fabulous pictures that I took with my parents new camera!!! SERIOUSLY!!!

And the camera doesn't like my boys at all, does it? ;)

Winterlodge

I now have 2 Cub Scouts! I am proud to say that Jakob has been signed up and his first Adventure being a Cub Scout was the ultimate trip - up to Mt. Hood to go tubing!!! They all left on Monday at 7:30am and didn't get home till 5:30 that evening. Needless to say, they were all very tired! Including Grandpa who graciously gave up his day off to join them in the snow!

The weather was beautiful and sunny for them, they still came home soaking wet - but HAPPY, which is something I treasure...

Prayers...

For all the crap that I feel like I deal with, it is nothing compared to knowing that you are going to be losing one of your children soon. My heart is breaking tonight for a family that I have grown to love. They are a Godly family who has been through the ringer of struggles, mainly with their oldest girl. She is a wonderful, spirited girl that has major health issues and due to those things, will soon be joining her Heavenly Father. She is only a few months younger than Jakob.

After hearing this, I had to go in and love on my boys a little bit more, knowing that we had had a rough evening. I just wanted them to feel me love on them, even though they were already asleep.

Please pray for them. I know that there is a host of people across the States praying, but it never hurts to add a few more...

Osm. Just osm.

Isaac started with this:

...decided that that just wasn't fun enough, so be kept going...

This was his final piece of artwork.
And yes, it is EVERYWHERE you think it is.
Yeah. Great.
(Side note: it lightened pretty easily with baby wipes...)

Scrumptious Saturday

Ok, So add this:
Plus this:
And you will get this:
Delicious Chocolate Cake-in-a-Mug

I am sure that some of you may have heard of this... you take a mug that is microwave-safe, add some chocolate-cake-like ingredients, microwave and TADA!!! Chocolate Cake perfect for one!

Here is the recipe for all you chocoholics out there:
- Your favorite coffee mug (microwave safe)
- 4 T. flour
- 4 T. sugar
- 2 T. cocoa powder
- 2 T. sour cream
- 3 T. milk
- 3 T. oil
- splash of vanilla
- 3 T. chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 T. walnuts (or other nut, also optional)

Put all the dry ingredients into your mug and mix well. Add the sour cream, mix well then add the milk, oil and vanilla, mix well. If you are adding them, add the chocolate chips and nuts and lightly mix them in. Microwave for 2 1/2 minutes (more or less depending on your microwave). Let it sit for at least 2 minutes and then devour! It is big enough to share, if you are willing - but it is wonderful for an after the kids are in bed snack!

This recipe is a variation from this web site (thanks Jenn!). I read all the comments on the page and used their suggestions... Here are some more suggestions for those adventurous souls:
- white chocolate chips
- caramel sauce
- cranberries or any other berry

I hope that you enjoy this recipe as much as I have!

Despite a lingering migraine...

I managed to get something done today!

I called my (hopefully) new neurologists office and my primary Dr's office and sorted out some referral misunderstandings.

I talked to my lawyer... yeah. Again.

I called Dept of Child Services, trying to sort out some mistakes.

I e-mailed several companies about walking boots, to try find one that will last longer than my last 4 have. And actually received a response already from one!

Took C&J to their counselling appts.

Bought a new headlight for my van.

Bought C new shoes because evidently they can't keep shoes longer than a few months (but found a good deal!).

Concider this my way of patting myself on the back! I am such a procrastinator that I feel like I rarely get anything but house stuff done... So despite having a migraine and 3 boys that just can't seem to get along, I ran errands, made calls and e-mails and just plain accomplished SOMETHING!!!
