Completely appropriate for today...

Jakob has lost 4 teeth in the last month or so & Isaac FINALLY lost his 4th tooth this morning.
(he woke us up at 4:15am after rolling over and it popping out!)

Um... Not really sure how to title this

For one Wednesday night church in October, it was Mask Night (at least for Middle School) and, of course, Isaac had to join in!

The boys decided to cut up a pair of John's old jeans, with permission, and fashion masks out of them...
 Jakob as "Gladiator Boy"

Isaac as "The Wrangler"

 Christian as "Denim Dude"

and these are the "Levi-tes"

I think their faces are almost as entertaining as the masks!

First day of school

All my babies (I know, they aren't babies anymore... but they always will be to me!) are in school this year!

Chris is in 7th grade, Jake is in 6th grade and Isaac is in 1/2 day kindergarten! It's hard to believe that are all old enough to be in school all day.

Its so sad that they aren't photogenic. And they really hate their picture being taken... So sad.

Yeah, yeah... it's been a while

A few things have happened since I last blogged... I will get to that, eventually!

Yesterday, Chris and Jake went with their school to the beach for the SOLV Beach Clean-up! It was supposed to be several weeks ago, but that weekend had crazy windy and rainy weather, so they rescheduled.

I dropped them off at the school, (8:15 AM on a SATURDAY MORNING, mind you) and as I was walking away from the bus, both boys - at separate times - ran off the bus and gave me a hug and kiss. I was shocked, stunned and blissfully happy!!! It was so unexpected, it brought tears to my eyes.

Chris and Jake were gone all day - they did the beach clean for a few hours and then went to the Outlet Mall for some window shopping... I gave them each $5 to spend on snacks or whatever they chose. Of course, they both bought candy. Jake came home with a Jawbreaker bigger than a golf ball that he had been licking on for an hour... Joy. They did think of Isaac and brought a smaller Jawbreaker home for him.

For some reason, Chris did some 'dumpster diving' while he was there... and came home with 2 exit signs, bubble wrap, small cardboard box, wire, rope. Seriously? I mean, really...? Why.

It was a good day!

(sorry there is no picture... My computer crashed and had to be reloaded, I haven't put the pics back on it yet!)

Muddy mess

I started this post off as a Wordless Wednesday but quickly realized that there was stuff I wanted to say about these crazy creatures pictured below…

My Bestie and I took our kids (my 3 boys and her 1 girl) to Hagg Lake for a picnic and to play in the water sometime this summer. It was late enough in the summer that the water was still warm but not HOT outside.  THIS IS WHAT TOOK PLACE:

There was probably 6 inches of sticky, gooey mud on part of the bank of the river where we were at (lucky us, right?). All of the kids gravitated to it like moths to a flame… us moms were helpless to stop it. We just made it clear that they would NOT be getting in the car without getting cleaned off first. Isaac was the only one that hesitated and then was NOT HAPPY when we made him get back into the water to get the mud off him even though he was cold and ready to be DONE!

There is no photographic proof, but the mommies DID enjoy a bit of the mud as well! Smile
