2011 Cub Scouts Derby Races
Yet another year of Derby races under our belts… and 2nd place overall for Christian! He won 10 of 11 races and enjoyed every minute! He was very nonchalant about making his car this year, asking why he had to participate this year. Needless to say, mommy wouldn’t let him NOT make is car and participate!
Jakob won a few races, didn’t place but had a lot of fun!
Jakob’s is “5403” in the left picture
Chris’ is red and orange with a little yellow Lego head sticking out of the top in the right picture
It was fun to watch the boys surrounded by their friends, having fun and enjoying themselves!

I finally did it!
I have wanted to do something drastic for a while now and finally just took a deep breath and went for it!
And guess what?
I LOVE IT!!!
Yes, it really is as short as it looks!
Embracing my curls and all their fuzziness!

Spring has Sprung!!!
All the flowers are in bloom, the trees are sprouting
and all us humans with allergies are sneezing!
Hello there Spring!

Photos that I am proud of and want to show them off!
Joseph, Christian’s best friend
Lisa, Joseph’s mom and my very good friend
Julianna, Lisa’s Daughter and Joseph’s twin
and the many faces of my Christian
Unfortunately, Jakob, Isaac and DeJay (Lisa’s youngest boy) weren’t in the mood to have many pictures taken, much less being posed and asked to smile! It was a crazy day of dodging the rain, occupying kids and 2 mommies trying not to pull their hair out!

Long over-due update
Yes, it has been long over due (remember this post?)
Every time I would think of it we wouldn’t be home or Chris would be at school or at least not home!
Well, I have finally gotten his permission!
Here is Chris on that fateful day IN the ER… It actually doesn’t look all that bad.
Notice the “line” in his tooth? Yeah, that is where it BROKE in half.
Yup. That break is all the way up into the root of that tooth.
Well, that is an adult tooth.
As in, never to grow a new one in that place again.
When I first realized that, all I could see was dollar signs and money flying out of my fingers.
Well, after seeing a dentist and then an orthodontist, that won’t be the case,
not for a few years at least!
Ortho suggested leaving what was left of the tooth:
See the little piece? It looks like a new tooth growing in?
Nope, that is what my almost-10-year-olds tooth will look like until his mouth stops growing
and they can put an implant in – around age 18.
Isn’t that FABULOUS???
I thought so too!!!
(not so much)
