I know it has been a little while (ok, it has been 2 1/2 months) but A LOT has happened!
Here is a little rundown:
1. WE HAVE MOVED!!! It is a slightly bigger place – 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms (yes, I get my OWN bathroom free of pee on the seat!); bigger garage that I am trying to clean out but that is slow going; all fake hardwood floors, which is nice but takes some getting used to. It has a much smaller backyard which is too bad, but plenty of side yard and friends to go play with. The boys and I are very happy with this new home! Chris especially because he has his own room now, which means Isaac and Jake are sharing and THAT is very interesting to say the least!
2. Chris went to Adventure Cove for 4 nights with his Cub Scout den! He did get a little home sick, but made it the entire time, happily and without accidents!
3. Jake went to Cub World for 2 nights… and so did I! (AAAHHHHHH!!!!) Another post to come on that!
4. We all got to go camping at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City with my mom’s side of the family – a tradition that I wouldn’t give up for the WORLD! Go see this sight (my sisters) for pictures, cause I had a dead camera that didn’t take any pictures that weekend… :(
5. I took some major legal steps to protect my boys. That was a step that took me a long time to build up to, but one that I am glad I took. This Mama Bear needed to show her cubs that I would fight tooth and nail to keep them safe. That fight hasn’t ended and won’t end for a while. (Please pray for us and everyone involved.)
6. On August 10, I had another ambulance ride with my eldest son. He fell and tweaked his back – bruised a few vertebrae, and is fine now. (For those up on the count of ER visits for this child, this makes #12)
7. The very NEXT DAY, we went quickly to the Dr.’s office because Jakob dislocated 3 of his fingers on his left hand. By the time we got to the office and had x-ray’s, they were back in socket, but bruised. The Dr. kinda laughed when he said that they both needed to take it a bit easy (not only is he a pediatric Dr., but he had 3 very active boys too).
All this in the midst of summer, which means sleep-overs, parks, day-to-day stuff, friends, family, barbeques, swimming, and all the “normal” summertime stuff that goes on! Yikes! And just when I am getting “used” to summer – school is just 2 weeks away!
