Rockets!

The last few weeks in Cub Scouts, Christian has been building a model rocket with his Den. Thursday there was no school, so his Den Leader Mr. Ken Friday (an awesome man and leader!) scheduled a Den Rocket Launch!
Giving the rules and directions

Mr. Friday's first rocket

Christian's Rocket....

... and it's launch!

The previous rockets had either "A" engines or "B" engines, this one is a "C" size engine... double the size of the "B" engine

The Oregon rain managed to hold off until just at the end of the rocket launches, but we all still had a lot of fun watching our boys' hard work fly up into the sky! Can't wait to do it next year!!!

Playing a little bit of catch-up...

I was looking back on some of my pictures and realized that there are several "events" that I haven't blogged about... things that I want to remember! So here it goes!

===========================================

In early October we got to go camping with the boys' Cub Scout Pack... This was the first time I had ever camped with just me and the boys! My parents were nice enough to drive their tent trailer over to Lincoln City (where the campground was) and park it, then come and get it again when the weekend was over! That made it all the more easy and fun!!! (Thanks Mom and Dad!)

and due to the fact that there are SOOOO many pictures that I want to blog, I just made a few collages out of them!!!

We spent 2 nights there, walking, going to the beach for the kite derby, going down to the lake, C made several "rafts" out of misc. stuff, bike riding, campfires, silly games and dinners together. We had so much fun, and even though it was crazy, I can't wait to do it again!!!

====================================

I was so excited when it worked out for me to go to the Pumpkin Patch with Jakob's class in late October... it is the first on that I have gone on since my foot was healed! It was fabulous to get to wear a borrowed pair of adorable polka-dotted rain boots!That was an extremely tiring day... I had 4 boys including Jakob. 3 of which are in the same Cub Scout Den - talk about HYPER! Oh, Wow! If only we could invent a way to harness (or transfer) just a fraction of 7-yr-old energy!

Halloween Fun

A bit belated, but I thought that I had posted this already!
This year I had 2 Transformers, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime and an adorable bumblebee!

Christian being a very helpful big brother as we walked around Grandma and Grandpa's neighborhood

Chris just couldn't seem to keep ahold of his pumpkin full of candy, I think that he dropped it 4 times in less than a block!A double bumblebee...

And to top off our evening:

Octopus on a Bed of Worms, YUMMY!!!

It was a fun evening, but it was tiring and I remember why (among other reasons) this is NOT my favorite holiday!
